Hearty Welcome to this Pastoral  Center Kumbakonam site
Pastoral center Kumbakonam, India is a catholic institution. Most Rev. Dr. F. Antonysamy DD, STL, the Bishop of Kumbakonam is the head of this institution. Presently Fr. S.I. Arulsamy, is the director of this center. Thirteen different commissions assist the parishes of the diocese of Kumbakonam, India in their pastoral activities.
The following are the different commissions.
1.       Catechetical commission
2.       Ecumenical commission
3.       Commission for Religious dialogue
4.       Liturgy commission
5.       Youth commission
6.       Commission for Women
7.       Commission for Communication
8.       Bible Commission
9.       Commission for Basic Christian community
10.   Commission for Charismatic prayer group
11.   Commission Schedule caste and schedule tribe
12.   Family commission
13.   Laity Commission
The above commissions are entrusted to different priests and they organize suitable activities in the parishes of the diocese with the co-operation of the parish priests.
For instance, the catechetical commission distributes the text books for catechism and moral lessons to the catholic schools run in the diocese and a team that comprises of the director and some catechists visit each school and inspect them once a year. They also conduct exams to the school children on catechism and moral lessons and give away prizes to those score more marks in the written exam.
Ecumenical commission organizes gatherings and meetings to contact different Christian denominations and establish a warm relationship among the Christians who are in different Christian denominations. A gathering and a meeting is organized in the month of December-January in which Christians from different denomination gather, pray and share their Christian experience. 
Commission for Liturgy guides the parishes to celebrate liturgy in a meaningful way and in the spirit of the guidelines given by the church.
Youth commission focuses on the youth and guides them by organizing different programme such as seminar etc. It also helps the youth to find suitable jobs. It has organized to donate blood to the needed persons
Commission for Women organizes awareness programme to women. It visits each parish and helps  ladies to get organized in small groups.
Commission for Communication has wider range activities. It has a group of artists who present skit and dramas in parishes on existential themes such as environmental concern, unity of the family etc. It has a studio and it records video and audio programme. It trains children in the art of dance and keyboard playing
Bible commission takes care of the distribution of the Tamil Bible. It organizes completion among the school going children in presentation of the themes of the Bible in the form of drama, singing, exhibition, oration etc.
Commission for Basic Christian communities (Anbiam) helps the parishes to organize small Christian communities. It gives training to the leaders of the small Christian community
Commission for Schedule caste and Schedule tribe people organizes gathering of leaders and it encourages the people to get their right from the government etc. It organizes classes and seminars to the schedule caste children. It gives away scholarship to students given by the church and by other donors.
Family commission takes care of the activities that concern to the welfare of the families. Particularly it organizes seminar four times a month to those are about to get married. It organizes celebration to those who celebrate their wedding silver jubilee etc. It helps to rectify t the illegal marriages.
Laity commission takes care of the active involvement of the laypersons in the life of the local church. It helps the parishes to organize the parish councils etc.
